Expertise is grown inside the work.
Intangled Learning is a team of educators, researchers, and architects of organizational learning. We don't sell quick fixes or outside curricula. We operate on the assumption that the most important source of knowledge is where it is practiced everyday. From this basis, we help bold organizations build self-sustaining communities of practice — where professional knowledge grows from the people already doing the work.
The prevailing metaphors about learning are problematic.
For too long, organizations have been sold outside tools and scripted training that provide the illusion of improvement without transforming actual practice. Learning gets treated as a mechanical process — something you engineer with the right materials and deliver from the outside in.
We believe something different. Learning is a complex social activity, and adults develop by being intangled in the real practice of their organization. So instead of importing a curriculum, we architect the conditions for the expertise already inside an organization to grow, transfer, and sustain itself.
We've watched the same principle hold in a math classroom, across a whole school district, and on a manufacturing floor. That's the throughline of everything we believe and do.
Guided by research, built for practice
Two founders, one from education and other from industry, bridging theory and practice to enhance the learning of organizations.
Dr. Kevin Berkopes
Co-Founder & CEOAn educator and entrepreneur, Dr. Berkopes drives the vision behind Intangled Learning. Grounded in enactivism and the learning sciences, his work reimagines how expertise is developed — treating knowledge not as a fixed set of rules to be transmitted, but as something that emerges through authentic participation in practice. He focuses on building apprenticeship architectures that help people learn, grow, and develop where the work actually happens.
Andrew Salmon
Co-Founder & PresidentAndrew brings extensive industry expertise to the challenge of organizational learning. His focus lies in the architectural design and implementation of apprenticeship programs that work in the real world. By bridging the gap between theoretical training and daily practice, Andrew ensures Intangled's pathways are scalable, sustainable, and deeply embedded in the work of schools and industry partners alike.
